After Australia’s decent show with the bat in the 1st innings, India was under enormous pressure to perform well thereafter, but Kohli & Co. didn’t manage to put a good total on the board in their 2nd innings. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane helped their side to set a target of 188 runs for the visitors.
Australia has done brilliantly to bowl out India out in the morning session of Day 4. They knew that they had to do something special and they did, with the second new ball. Mitchell Starc rapped Rahane in front just after his fifty. He then dismissed Karun Nair for a golden duck.
Now, Australia knows that this is their best chance to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy, this time in India. On the other side, the hosts would want to bank on the conditions to help them as they aim to stay alive in the series.
