After a scintillating victory in the final against Rising Pune Supergiant, Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma would now be looking to concentrate on his old role (opening for India). During MI’s media conference on Monday, he cleared the much-awaited doubt about his batting at number 4 during the IPL. He believes that it won’t cause problems if compared to the Champions Trophy where he will open for the side.
The star player said, “IPL is different from international cricket. I spoke before the start of IPL that to give balance to the team I will bat lower down. I don’t know why people compare the two (situations).”
“It has happened for 10 years – players going on to play Test cricket or 50 over games after IPL. I don’t think it’s going to be difficult to adapt in this age. All it needs is to develop the mindset,” he added confidently.
