Every year we witness a CHANGE in Premier League be it in management, squad or even in ownership. While this has modified the league and added a new dimension, many a times we fail to acknowledge stars who lost their position in the line-up due to it.
Let us take a look at some of these Forgotten Heroes:-
Sakho was out of favour ever since his fallout with Klopp. He complained about his ‘apparent’ exile from the German’s team to his fans via snap chat. Not only was it disrespectful to his teammates, but his outburst saw him getting pushed down the pecking order behind Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan, Joe Gomez, Lucas Leiva at the centre-back position.
He probably will not feature again for Jurgen Klopp unless he makes amends; things do not look good for the former Paris Saint-Germain Captain.
Yaya Toure has attained a legendary status during his six-year tenure with Man City. His current limbo has been a matter of concern for Citizens fans as Guardiola has vowed not to pick Toure unless his manager Dimitri Seluk apologises for his ill-fashioned comments in September. The 33-year-old’s current situation can have adverse effects on his career as ageing process is catching up to him. He has slowed down considerably, and his stamina has hit all time low.
After a glistening season with Borussia Dortmund, Mkhitaryan made a £26.3 million move to Old Trafford in 2016. His much-heralded arrival was supposed to bring bags of goals and assists. Nonetheless, Mourinho has used him shabbily so far. The Portuguese has only started him once, in Manchester Derby which was eventually his last match.
Mkhitaryan came to Manchester with a reputation, winning the Player of The Season Award in Bundesliga but has been underutilised and undermined which could be costly for the English outfit.
Fabregas is set to become the highest paid and the most qualified loanee of world football with a loan move to AC Milan in January looming on the cards. Conte who is adamant to stick to the bold 3-4-3 line-up, has sidelined the Spaniard. A turbulent phase of 18 months has been critical for Fabregas and Conte has made us forget how good he really is.
Conte will continue to start Kante and Matic who are in scintillating form, leaving Cesc looking for a new club in the upcoming transfer window.
Manchester United have had their own little Soap Opera with Schweinsteiger in the lead. The World Cup winner has lost his position in the starting XI; he was forced to train with reserves and was also left out of United Team picture leaving him humiliated, courtesy of Mourinho.
The German is unwilling to part ways with a job at Old Trafford even if it results in him not featuring ever again for United. While the drama continues to give new episodes, popular belief suggests Schweinsteiger will stay at United until the end of his term.
