Having lost their last 4 matches out of 5, Gautam Gambhir’ Kolkata Knight Riders would be seeking for a victory against the last year champs Sunrisers Hyderabad. This time the venue is neutral (Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru) and one would expect a thriller. KKR’s batting strength could prove to be an advantage for them whereas Sunrisers would be highly dependent on their furious bowling attack.
Yuvraj Singh’s injury is still a concern for Hyderabad’s coach Tom Moody as the final decision on him would be taken at the last moment. On the other side, Gambhir would be looking to reduce the gap between eliminator and the IPL final by winning this clash against the orange army.
When: 17th May 2017
Where: Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
What to expect: There is a rain threat at Bengaluru, so if that happen, then KKR would be unlucky to be eliminated from the tournament as they stood at the 4th spot in the points table, behind Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Otherwise, the pitch would be on the slower side where the teams would be playing with slow bowlers and seamers with change-of-pace variations.
Kolkata Knight Riders have won seven of their eleven clashes against the defending champions. Gambhir’s Riders would be confident of creating another history.
